A startup rebrand takes 2 to 4 weeks for the brand identity and 6 to 8 weeks with the website when a sprint studio like PIXELUP LABS runs it. Established studios take longer: Focus Lab's engagements run 6 weeks to 5 months, and Ramotion lists 3.5 months for its brand packages. Scope and sign-off set the calendar, not company size.
Nobody asks how long a rebrand takes out of curiosity. Between July and October 2026, Google showed our pages for searches like "a brand refresh timed around a series b announcement." Another asked for "a full visual-verbal identity in eight weeks for our series c announcement." The real question is whether a rebrand fits before your date.
TL;DR: For funded B2B teams, Series A to C, with a date on the calendar. Brand only: 2–4 weeks at a sprint studio, 6 weeks to 3.5 months at an established one. Brand plus website: 6–8 weeks with us, 3–5 months for a structural rebrand at Focus Lab. A separate website specialist adds 12–20 weeks. Count back from your date: a sprint fits inside 8 weeks, a rename or a steering committee usually doesn't.
How long does a startup rebrand take with each type of partner?
A startup rebrand takes from a weekend to six months, depending on who does it. Templates take a weekend, freelancers 2–4 weeks for an identity, and sprint studios 2–8 weeks for brand and site. Established studios take 6 weeks to 5 months.
| Option | Example | Brand only | Brand + website | Price signal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Template or Claude Code | DIY | A weekend (our estimate) | A weekend (our estimate) | Free to $3k (our estimate) |
| Freelancer or small duo | A single designer | 2–4 weeks | Site quoted separately | $2–8k (our estimate) |
| Sprint studio | PIXELUP LABS | 2–4 weeks | 6–8 weeks | $15k brand · $25–40k brand + site |
| B2B rebrand studio | Focus Lab | 6-week sprint · 9–12 weeks comprehensive | 1–3 months focused · 3–5 months structural | $15–50k focused · $75–350k structural |
| Product and brand studio | Ramotion | 3.5 months per brand package | Site priced separately; timing not published | $60k or $85k "branding only" · site from $25k extra |
| Website specialist (site only) | Huemor · Bop Design · Webstacks | n/a | 12–16 weeks · 16–20 weeks · 90–120 days | Huemor $50–100k · Bop Design from $25k · Webstacks not published |
We're a row in this table, and we sell the fast option, so read our numbers with that in mind. The other figures come from published sources, checked October 6, 2026: Focus Lab's FAQ and services, Ramotion's packages, Huemor, Bop Design, Webstacks, and dp.vision's cost guide for the freelancer timeline.
dp.vision's July 2026 cost guide gives a market-wide benchmark: freelancers 2–4 weeks, startup-focused studios 4–10, B2B and SaaS specialists 6–12, and big network agencies 10–24. Sprints aren't unique to us: Focus Lab sells a 6-week branding sprint. Subscriptions like Designjoy ($4,995/mo) work one request at a time, so a rebrand there is a queue, not a timeline.
What fits inside a 2–4 week brand sprint, and what takes 6–8 weeks?
A brand sprint is a fixed-price, fixed-scope engagement that produces positioning and a brand identity in weeks instead of months. At PIXELUP LABS the brand sprint runs 2–4 weeks for $15k. Adding the website takes the project to 6–8 weeks and $25–40k. Rolling the brand into everything else continues after launch.
| Scope | Timeline | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brand sprint | 2–4 weeks | $15k | Brand strategy and positioning, a logo system, a visual identity, brand guidelines, and examples of the brand on your site, deck, social and product |
| Brand + website | 6–8 weeks | $25–40k | The sprint, plus information architecture, full visual design, motion where it earns its place, a developer-ready handoff, and the build on Framer, Webflow or Next.js |
| Retainer | Ongoing | From $6k/mo | The same team, keeping the system current after launch |
Shipping fast is not the flex. Shipping fast and leaving nothing to clean up is.
Our sprints are short because the process was built for weeks, not because a five-month process got squeezed. One or two people decide, a small senior team does the work, and every project gets founder creative direction. AI speeds up production. Taste stays human.
What it looked like on Monumint. We ran the full rebrand for Monumint, a fintech, and shipped a one-page site on Framer in 7 weeks from kickoff to public launch. Brand direction and logo locked at about week 4. The client had already chosen the name, so naming sat outside those 7 weeks.
Add product UI, a multi-page build or heavy motion, and the calendar grows. The 6–8 weeks covers brand plus a focused site.
Clients notice. SynthioLabs: "they get timelines, a rarity!" Sully: "super quick turnarounds."
Fast craft is not fast results, though. As I put it on LinkedIn: "if an agency promises to transform your product metrics in a 2-week sprint, RUN."
What makes a startup rebrand take longer?
Five things stretch a startup rebrand: sign-off, research depth, a name change, the number of surfaces, and your own team's speed. Company size matters less than any of them. A Series C with two decision-makers moves faster than a Series A with a committee.
Sign-off. Every extra approver and every extra round adds time. Monumint's contract capped design at 3 revision rounds. Seven written feedback rounds came in before launch. Our own Contra listing says the sprint isn't for: "Anyone who needs 4 logo rounds and committee approval."
Research depth. Customer interviews and a perception study take calendar time no designer can compress. Focus Lab lists "Brand Strategy & Complex Initiatives (12+ weeks)" separately from its 6-week sprint.
A new name. Naming adds legal time on top of design. The USPTO averaged 4.45 months to a first examination action in the first half of fiscal 2026.
Surfaces. The identity is the fast part of a rebrand. The rollout is the slow part. Bynder's 2023 survey of 1,002 marketers found a typical rebrand updates 215 assets over seven months, from first talks to rollout.
Your side of the table. Copy, the customer logos you're allowed to show, and security reviews all run on your team's clock. The launch waits for the slowest one.
When should a startup rebrand take longer than 8 weeks?
A startup rebrand should take longer than 8 weeks when the company is merging brands, changing its name, answering to a steering committee, or rolling out across regions. A sprint is the wrong tool for those. And if you're still finding product-market fit, the right timeline is zero.
- Pre-PMF or mid-pivot. If you're still finding PMF, don't hire us. Use a template and Claude Code, honestly. Come back after the pivot settles.
- A steering committee. We work founder-to-founder. If your rebrand needs a steering committee, a Landor- or Pentagram-tier firm will serve you better.
- M&A or several product brands. Focus Lab's Structural Rebrand runs 3–5 months from $25,000 a month and covers M&A integration, brand architecture and multi-brand systems. For a Series C folding in an acquisition, that's the right instrument. We compared the studios around it in Focus Lab alternatives.
- A rename. Budget months for trademark work, and start it before design.
- A locked strategy. If the strategy is done and locked, a freelancer at $2–8k is cheaper and faster than any studio, us included.
When does a sprint partner like PIXELUP LABS win?
PIXELUP LABS wins when a funded B2B team has a date, a settled position, and one or two people who can say yes. Brand sprint: $15k, 2–4 weeks. Brand plus website: $25–40k, 6–8 weeks. Retainer: from $6k/mo, so the brand stays current after launch.
How we know: 31 projects for funded B2B and AI-native startups, including Sully, Bland, Reducto, CTGT and Greptile's 2025 rebrand + design system, with 5.0★ across every review. We print our prices here, and our sprints are listed on our Contra services page.
Speed only counts if the brand survives launch. On Greptile's 2025 rebrand + design system, we left 200+ components with dev-first docs. Without a system, brand entropy sets in about eight months after launch, and you pay for the same weeks twice.
FAQ
Is a 2 week brand sprint for startups realistic?
For the identity, nearly. PIXELUP LABS runs brand sprints in 2–4 weeks for $15k, covering positioning, a logo system, a visual identity and guidelines. With the website, plan on 6–8 weeks.
How long does a website redesign take after a rebrand?
Website specialists quote 12 to 20 weeks: Huemor 12–16 for a SaaS redesign, Bop Design 16–20, Webstacks 90–120 days. A build from approved designs is faster; TripleDart quotes 1–6 weeks for Figma to Webflow. We do brand and site together in 6–8 weeks, with no hand-off between vendors.
How long does a rebrand take for a Series B or Series C company?
As long as its sign-off chain. Our 6–8 weeks for brand plus website assumes one or two people make the calls, whatever the stage. A Series C with a steering committee, a rename or several product brands should plan on 3–5 months, the length of Focus Lab's Structural Rebrand.
How much time does a rename add?
Months, and most of it is legal. The USPTO averaged 4.45 months to a first examination action and 10.03 months to final disposal in the first half of fiscal 2026. Clear the name with a trademark lawyer before it goes on anything, and ask whether you can launch before registration completes.
Should we rebrand before or after the fundraise?
It depends on how crowded your category is and which round comes next. If you've raised the Series A and you're pointing at a Series B, rebrand now; if you're pre-PMF, don't. The full decision is in rebrand before or after a fundraise.
Why do rebrands decay after launch?
Because nobody left a system behind. We call it brand entropy: about eight months after launch, the deck stops matching the site and engineers start inventing components. A design system with a named owner prevents it, and the cost guide covers what that costs.
Is a fast rebrand lower quality?
Only when a long process gets squeezed into fewer weeks. A sprint built for weeks keeps the craft and limits the scope. If your date is too close for the full scope, cut surfaces, not craft.
What should we have ready before a rebrand starts?
A date, such as the Series B announcement, and the one or two people who will sign off. Bring the opinion you hold about your market, the current deck, and customer proof you can publish. Book the decision-makers' calendars before kickoff, because their availability sets the pace more than the designers' does.

PIXELUP LABS is the enterprise-readiness design partner for funded B2B startups, most of them AI-native. We rebuild brand, website, and product design around the opinion a founder holds about their market, so enterprise buyers stop hesitating before they ever book the demo. We've run this play for Greptile, Sully, Reducto, Bland, and a dozen other AI-native teams, in weeks not quarters, and we leave behind the design system so it doesn't decay when we're gone.
